Join Erika Denny, Ali Davenport, and me on January 31, 9 am-1 pm for a hands-on broom making class.
Throughout the day, students will make a broom of their choice and gain in-depth knowledge and skills that will enable them to continue crafting brooms on their own long after the class ends.
Students will leave class with a broom and a new skill-set.

Saturday, January 31, 9am-1pm(ish)

Learn how to carve a spoon designed by you!
Tools will be provided (feel free to bring your own)
Lunch will be provided.
Each Student will take home 1 spoon.

Spoon Carving Class
Sunday, Januray 11 9am-1pm(ish)
Tuition: $110
Build a post and rung footstool while learning many of the basic post and rung building techniques (splitting wood, drawknife techniques, mortise and tenon joinery, seat weaving).
Class will begin 9 am the morning of Saturday, January 24, and end 5pm Sunday, January 25. Class size is limited to 4 people. No prior experience is needed.
Building anything is physically demanding. Students will be involved with every aspect of their footstool build, with a little nudge here and there from me. Students will leave class with a new footstool as well as a wealth of information for future use.
A $100 deposit is required to register for this class. A refund of 50% will be provided if a cancellation is received 2 weeks prior to class. Remaining balances can be paid either at the start of class or before. Contact to discuss.

Build a Post & Rung Footstool
January 24 & 25
Tuition: $250
Democratic Chair (2 sessions)
Phase 1: March 5-8
Phase 2: April 16-19
Tuition: $1,600
Build a democratic chair starting with a red oak log. Phase 1 will involve splitting/riving the oak log into part blanks. Shaping those parts with a drawknife and leaving to air dry concluding phase 1.
Phase 2 will begin with drilling/reaming the seat blank. Carving said seat. And wrapping up the build with assembly.

Build a “modern rocking chair” of my own design. We will start as many chairs start, with a red oak log.

Modern Rocker Class
March 22-27
Tuition: $1,400
